Liquid Edition DVD-Player compatibility Hotfix BETA

This is a beta patch that is meant to address some issues that you may be having with burned DVD's being compatible with some settop DVD players.

How to use the patch:
- use only for Liquid Edition 5.1 and 5.5x (!!! NOT for 5.0 and also NOT for DV500)
- run *.exe
- make a DVD project and test
- give use feedback on our forums as to which DVD player vendor and what DVD player model you are using along with the results of the test.

IMPORTANT: This Beta graphics driver upgrade and Hot-fix update are for Edition PRO 5.0/5.1 users only.
 
WARNING: This hot-fix and driver upgrade is not for the Edition DV & DV500 users and should not be downloaded or installed for either of these user groups. Doing so may cause stability problems with both Edition and/or the computer.
 
Beta Explanation: Please note that this program is classified as BETA and as such is considered to be under development and whilst they have been thoroughly tested, Pinnacle can offer no firm guarantee as to their stability and compatibility on all system configurations. It is therefore recommended that you back up your data and if possible take an image of the system using Image Software or the Restore option in Windows XP. An official release of the graphics driver and Hot-fix update will follow shortly.
 
Instructions for Usage: The EditionPRO_AnalogCapturePatch1_Beta1.exe hot-fix update should be installed after the EditionPRO_DisplayDrivers_7.93_Beta1.exe driver upgrade. It is very important that both are installed in order for Edition to correctly function.
 
Do Not Uninstall Edition or the graphics driver. This program will update them automatically.
 
Installation instructions: This driver will automatically update Edition. There is no need to uninstall Edition unless specifically informed by technical support to do so. Please download the EditionPRO_AnalogCapturePatch1_Beta1.exe file to a local drive and then follow the instructions below very carefully as failure to do so may cause problems to the stability of your system.
 
Procedure is as follows:
 
1) Close all applications. Background programs should also be temporarily stopped or paused. If you have a virus checker with “Realtime scanning”, please disconnect from the internet and the turn this off
2) Double click EditionPRO_AnalogCapturePatch1_Beta1.exe and follow the on-screen instructions. Be careful to install this patch to the correct directory.
3) You may now reactivate background programs. Do not forget to reactivate your virus checking software (Real-time Scanning etc) before connecting to the internet


Bugs fixed

Analogue output shifted to the left
Description: Often reported as a visible black bar of the right side of the TV-Out screen. (Specific to PAL - no problem in NTSC)

Y/C input shifted 2 lines up
Description: Capturing from YC, input is shifted up two lines.

Blue screen (crash) during analogue capture
Leaving the logging-tool (with ATI-Analogue-Capture) open for quite some time (a day or more), could generate a BSOD (crash) when continuing to work.

Analogue capture fails or rendering stops
Description1: Often the first capture does not work. Clip properties show only 1 frame, no Video media file available.
Description2: Sometimes the capture fails when trying to capture video that is too complex (too noisy).

New fix from BETA1 to BETA2:
AV Sync issues
Description: Possible synchronization problems when capturing from certain analog sources.

There is no need to uninstall the old graphics driver unless specifically informed by technical support to do so. Please download the files EditionPRO_DisplayDrivers_7.93_Beta1.exe to a local drive and then follow the instructions below very carefully as failure to do so may cause stability problems to your system.
 
Procedure is as follows:
 
1) Close all applications. Background programs should also be temporarily stopped or paused. If you have a virus checker with “Real-time Scanning”, please disconnect from the internet and the turn this off
2) Unpack the EditionPRO_DisplayDrivers_7.93_Beta1.exe to the following location C:\ATIPro
3) Use Windows Explorer to browse to this folder, click on the folder within and then double click on Setup.exe
4) Follow the on-screen instructions and reboot the machine when instructed. Please note that slower machines may take a several minutes to update the drivers
5) Once the system has been rebooted, it may be necessary to reset your desktop settings to the preferred resolution.
6) You may now reactivate background programs. Do not forget to reactivate your virus checking software (Real-time Scanning etc) before connecting to the internet.
