DekoObjex Option
DekoObjex

The DekoObjex™ option adds flexibility to your Deko character generator unlike anything you’ve ever seen in a CG before. With DekoObjex, you can create a persistent plane on your graphic screen that can be combined with a more traditional page-based plane. DekoObjex can animate graphic objects to the screen using 2D DVE controls. These actions can be controlled independently by a single user, making DekoObjex an ideal tool for both news and sports production/playout.

For example, in addition to animating typical lower-third and full screen graphics in 3D space, a single CG operator can now perform advanced functions as an independent area of the screen. These functions include: news crawls, sports scoreboards, cycling financial data or station/program ids, multiple video squeeze-backs, multiple clips, clocks with temp and even audio for sound effects. All of this in only a single channel of the Deko system, freeing the second channel for other functions.

Creation of persistent graphic elements in DekoObjex is achieved by creating a DekoObjex Scene. The Scene is a collection of video and graphical elements that you wish to display on air. For example, let’s look at the components of a typical DekoObjex Scene created for a sports environment. You might have a full screen digital video input, a lower third, a text crawl for breaking information, a scoreboard and a clip scaled to fit into the lower third. These actions are easily scripted by the user and saved to the Scene. The Controller Window can display several Scenes for fast access.

In a News environment, you might want to display a continuous crawl, station id and time and temp in the lower third. Typically some of these elements might come from a separate device and controlled by a separate operator. With DekoObjex, all of this can display in a single output channel and be controlled independent from other elements of a standard newscast.

Other elements can be added to the Scene with a quick click on the toolbar, such as audio for sound effects, multiple clip objects, clocks and even cel animations. Clips can be scrubbed and trimmed with an on screen thumbwheel for frame-by-frame control. These objects can be dragged and dropped into a group, for faster animation recall.

DekoObjex also gives you control over the opacity, position and scale of every object in the Scene. After collecting the objects for the Scene, they can be animated on and off the screen from the Timeline Editor.

Scene playout can be controlled by the mouse from a user friendly menu or by the Deko FastAction Keyboard for the fastest recall.

So, what does this mean? DekoObjex streamlines broadcast operations. Now a single operator can easily perform several functions. The operator can selectively control when each item appears and how long it stays on air. All of this power can air in conjunction with your normal Deko broadcast. DekoObjex – you’ve got to see it!

*DekoObjex Option is available for FXDeko II, Deko2200, and Deko1000.

All of these graphics are being displayed with a single channel of FXDeko II with ClipDeko and DekoObjex Option.

School closings start to automatically cycle through a lower-third as the text is read from a simple text file. The text file can be updated as new closings are announced. Additionally, a clock is flown in and will continuously update until the operator removes it from the screen.
