Duties: :
The Director IS Consumer Division will coordinate, implement, and manage the Divisions infrastructure and oversee the Applications (SAP & associated tools) as well as share in the development of IS-based strategies and initiatives for future growth. This individual is responsible for ensuring the IS theme of being “Locally Responsive and Globally Responsible” is carried out each and every day in the local geography. The IS Director will also preserve the integrity and design of geographic information databases, as well as manage and direct a team of IT professionals whose purpose is to support IS functions locally. Currently in this time zone we have the headquarters for Digidesign, M-Audio and the Consumer division. Site managers report to this defined role. This position reports to the Director West Coast Operations also located on the West Coast. Responsibilities • Lead, coordinate, and co-manage all aspects of local IS implementations. • Participate in design of new IS analysis methodologies, applications, iInfrastructure and strategies. • Coordinate and conduct IS training sessions for IS staff and end users with client-facing application needs. • Provide IS guidance and support to the enterprise; act as single point of contact for senior management IS-related issues. • Participate in transitions of IS applications to next-generation environments and/or cross-functional systems. • Coordinate with all local sites to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of IS applications and infrastructure to meet business demands. • Oversee self-testing SOX data audits and control measures. • Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies (including firewalls) to ensure local IS security. • Recommend and execute modifications to IS software and infrastructure in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance. • Manage and/or provide guidance & coaching to more junior management and members of the team. Work Conditions • On-site availability for Monday – Friday. On-Call as necessary. • Travel as necessary to both local sites and other Avid locations worldwide.
Requirements: :
• College degree in the field of computer science and/or 10 years equivalent work experience. • Experience overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of local infrastructure and related systems. • Some familiarity with Web site management and development tools. • Good technical knowledge of current network operating systems, email (exchange) and client-server implementations. • Superior project management skills. • Demonstrated ability to lead IS team members and end users. • Effective team-building and staff management skills.
