Pinnacle Systems focuses on DVB-T and digital home trends at this year's CeBIT

, 02/02/2005 - The trends in DVB-T-based television and advances in digital home technology will be the central features of Pinnacle Systems' presentation at CeBIT (Hall 2, Stand D 34) this year. Not only will it be unveiling the latest solutions offering PC-based DVB-T reception, it will also be demonstrating a number of new home-networking and media-receiver products. In addition to these, it will be introducing a truly innovative DVB-T solution for mobile users at the CeBIT press conference on Friday, 11 March 2005 at 14.00h in the Convention Center, Hall 13/14.

Pinnacle Systems goes DVB-T
Wherever you go nowadays, one phrase is the talk of the town: "Everywhere TV". What people are referring to, of course, is DVB-T. In contrast to conventional, analogue, terrestrial TV, DVB-T not only allows viewers to receive many more channels via an antenna, but also with much better sound and picture quality. So why forgo the latest news, sports programme or gripping entertainment during that tedious bus journey or the seemingly endless delay at the airport?

Pinnacle will be priming itself for the mobile TV era at CeBIT, presenting new external and internal DVB-T solutions which allow viewers to enjoy the latest TV programme in digital quality... anytime, anywhere. Intelligent video-recorder features – such as the time-shift function for temporarily delayed television and convenient scene skipping – are also embedded in these new solutions. In this way, Pinnacle can underpin its position as one of the leading suppliers to the hotly contested TV card market. As early as autumn 2004, Pinnacle unveiled the first dual TV card ever for DVB-T and analogue TV reception. In view of the growing nationwide prevalence of DVB-T, Pinnacle is expecting keen interest at CeBIT, and sales of its TV tuner solutions that reflect this appeal.

Pinnacle Systems in the digital home
Pinnacle Systems is a leading expert and pioneer in the digital home sector, first launching its multimedia home server solution, Pinnacle ShowCenter, in autumn 2003. The reasons why digital home solutions are becoming ever more popular are plain to see: who could possibly contemplate life nowadays without photos, videos or music? As we proceed further into the digital age, these are increasingly establishing themselves in digital form, but not just for use on PCs. Pinnacle will therefore be launching a solution at CeBIT 2005 which distributes these digital images, films and audio files wirelessly throughout the house without the chaos of haphazardly tangled leads and cables. The elegant external solution receives the PC-based videos, photographs and music files stored on the TV and replays them on the TV or stereo system without the PC having to be physically present in the living room. Every PC-based multi-media file can be accessed wirelessly via the television screen, with state-of-the-art technology maximizing the wireless transmission rates of data streams between the PC and other rooms. The launch of the new media receiver solution by retailers will coincide with CeBIT and cause an uproar, not only because of its new, sleeker design, but also due to its excellent high-definition picture quality. And last but not least, visitors can also expect a surprise or two in the PCTV MediaCenter area. Particularly campers will be delighted to know that, with Pinnacle's practical satellite solution, they no longer have to forfeit multimedia or TV in their caravan quarters, wherever they happen to be.
